The March Networks® GURU Smartphone Application is a robust tool designed to enhance the efficiency of technical support for certified solutions partners (CSPs), field technicians, and engineers. By integrating advanced diagnostic information and resources into a single application, GURU provides immediate access to a wealth of support options, including troubleshooting guidance, video tutorials, and relevant shipment and warranty statuses.

GURU is particularly beneficial when managing March Networks’ hybrid Network Video Recorders (NVRs), IP cameras, Command video management software, and Searchlight application software in the field.

• Audit Report:

  The GURU application ensures accurate installations by facilitating configuration audits for X-Series/8000/9000 Series Hybrid NVRs and RideSafe GT/MT Series Hybrid Transit NVRs. Technicians can auto-generate detailed audit reports that encompass NVR and camera configurations along with field of view images. These reports can be emailed for centralized review, stored for future reference, or provided to end users as a value-added installation document.

• Software Upgrade:

  While not supported for the X-Series family of recorders, GURU allows users to perform software upgrades on compatible recorders directly from the app. By using a wireless adaptor and scanning the QR code on the front panel of supported models, technicians can seamlessly transfer necessary software updates.

• Troubleshooting and Technical Support:

  The application features an interactive troubleshooting decision tree that guides users through common problems using a graphical utility. It employs filters to narrow down issues observed in the field and provides corrective action diagrams to assist technicians less familiar with specific equipment. Users can also quickly check product warranty statuses and utilize QR codes to submit RMAs or support tickets. Furthermore, GURU enables tracking of RMA shipment status.

  Provisioning NVRs has been simplified through GURU. With a wireless adaptor and a QR code for direct connection to X-Series/8000/9000 Series Hybrid NVRs or RideSafe GT Series Hybrid Transit NVRs, technicians can easily modify IP addresses or adjust other network settings. The Mobile Asset Tracking feature further aids transit agencies in monitoring their RideSafe GT Series hard drives throughout the handling process.

• Planning Tools:

  The GURU app includes various planning tools to assist in selecting suitable products and solutions for clients. The System Design Tool offers estimations for storage and bandwidth requirements based on specific configurations, while the Camera Selector Tool facilitates optimal IP camera selection. Additionally, the Third-Party Support tool helps verify compatibility with March Networks’ solutions.
